This man is A GENIUS!!!January 26, 2008 Richard Thomas Skaja(King George, VA) 8 out of 17 found this review helpful
Just when you thought the man couldn't possibly out do himself. Piers Anthony finds a unique perspective on the Incarnations of Immortality. He finds a way of tying all of the Characters together in a unique way! He had to travel back to the beginning of time itself to do it, but hey.... You gotta read this one if your an Incarnations of Immortality fan.
Under a Velvet Cloak a nice readNovember 5, 2008 Eric Alan Marx(Richland Center, WI USA) 2 out of 8 found this review helpful
Piers Anthony has used some help from readers of his other books in this Series, to make this book better. This book is interesting to read even if you haven't read the others in this Series, but if you have read the others this makes a fine addition as it ties up many loose ends from the other books.
can't waitFebruary 17, 2009 Stephanie 0 out of 25 found this review helpful
The 7th and 8th series I have yet to read. Anthony's Incarnation series was one of the best series I've read, and I put that up with the Belgarian epic. I look forward to reading the last two of the series, but first a must read for the books that spawned the last books.
I'm rebuilding my library and Incarnations series will defiantly be in there!
Almost there...June 7, 2008 Jason Tilli(Philly, PA USA) 10 out of 12 found this review helpful
I was immediately excited at the prospect of reading a new installment to the incarnation series, as many Piers Anthony fans were. As I began the mental trip of this new addition, there was the sweet familiarity of this writers pace and approach. I was drawn into the new main character and felt the tingle of anticipation that only comes when a fan falls into the works of a beloved author. While the story was arousing in the literary sense and the carnal sense, it seemed to have a rushed feeling at the conclusion of its build up. This latest addition to Anthony's world of magic and science is well worth the purchase and investment of time. While the end felt a bit rushed, he delivers a heady mixture of sensuality and creates new characters you will care about.
4 stars.December 21, 2007 AK(USA) 22 out of 29 found this review helpful
Kerena finds herself being given to Morley, a wise, magical man who offers her a better future than the life of poverty her family suffers, and teaches her much; logic, magic, and love. When he is abruptly taken from her, a quest to find him begins that will lead her into brothels, to becoming part of the Arthurian legend, to vampires, and then on a quest of cosmic proportions where she will meet Death, War, Time, Nature, Fate, the Devil, and Good Incarnates. She will also learn her role in life and find herself trying to save creation itself.
Even if you pick up this book first and have not read the other seven; if that's so, shame on you, they are a must read for fans of fantasy, you can follow what is going on with no trouble. This story will give you a fresh appreciation for all the others and insights into them that may make you want to go back and read them all again. Saying more would spoil too much of the story, though I will say that toward the end, the timeline issues did rather remind me of Bearing an Hourglass.
