There are much better out there...July 2, 2003 14 out of 21 found this review helpful
I have read a variety of spiritual books--from very religious to non-denominational. I have to say I did not enjoy this book. About 85% of the book is just quotations directly from the Bible, the other percent of the 'visions' she has seem to be her just re-phrasing what the Bible says. I am very open-minded, but honestly this author seems to have 'made-up' a lot of this, using the Bible, to scare people into her beliefs.
False Materialistic dreams-read the bible instead.April 24, 2003 18 out of 27 found this review helpful
I read this book, and I Find it absolutely outragous. the main things that tipped me off here is that she "witnesses" angels going to church services and recording how much people donate! Doesn't the bible say not to get caught up in earthly gains? so why would God care how much people donate to a church? why doesn't she also witness donations to orphanages or charities or deseise foundations? second, she starts talking about the things she see's in heaven: things like: "it looked like the most beautifly carved ornate desk I have ever seen." and the rest of these visions are just spliced together from scripture. No, her visions of heaven are nothing but false, materialistic dreams. do NOT buy into this. Pay attention to the scripture, yes, but do that from a bible.
EDIT: I don't know why my first title was censored, because I used the word "Fake", not the other F word
Heaven Is Real...January 4, 2003 5 out of 9 found this review helpful
This is the second book that I have read by this author and she is sharing divine insights given to her by God. The author paints a very vivid picture of Heaven. Scrptures are also provided. I highly recommend this book for the sick and shut-in. Patients that are terminally ill should be blessed and comforted to see or be reminded that Heaven is real. It is a quick read. The author may repeat some things too much, but give her credit for being obedient to God and trying to save souls.
Very good, but a little repetitive.December 19, 2002 7 out of 9 found this review helpful
There is nothing negative to say about the subject matter. The message it has is great. Problem is that it gets a little repetitive and wordy, often repeating the same "incident" over again just to fill up the pages. If she had not repeated herself, and if the publisher had used a more normal type size (i.e. smaller) and less space between the lines, this book would have been only about a third as long as it really is.
In God I Trust!October 13, 2002 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
I've read the entire series of the divine revelations and truly believe that Mrs. Baxter was inspired by Jesus. She has an insight that people should really take the time to listen to. Great things await us in Heaven, but we have to get there first. This book was totally backed by scriptures as the vivd images brought a warm feeling to my soul. Great things await us all, let's start by reading the Bible and then keep going by reading inspirational messages such as this one.
