To any who have hesitated in getting this book . . . August 24, 2008 I am reading The 12th Planet (for the second time, so it can come together for me). When I first started reading it I was very curious about Enki, and wanted to order this book. I changed my mind because of the reviews on here. I was turned off by the poetic stuff, and just wasn't interested in reading it. But the more I continued reading, the more curious I became about Enki, and finally my curiosity got the best of me (it usually does)! I have started reading this book, and just can't put it down. I am now about three fourths of the way through the book, and just had to stop to come write this, in case there were others who were hesitating like I was. I didn't want to read poetry, nor things I didn't really understand. This book is not like that at all. It is written in lines, but they don't rhyme. It is an interesting kind of wording, but one I quickly became used to, and which is not irritating to me at all. It's amazing the amount of knowledge that this man (and Enki) pack away in this fashion, in this book. This book is absolutely mind-boggling, thrilling and absorbing. I am constantly amazed at how ZS takes so many different sources (i.e. greek mythology, egyptian mythology, biblical history, archaeology, science, and many others) and combines them into one coherent whole! He has also included an excellent, inclusive glossary.
While I have not by any means made my mind up yet (like it matters one whit what I believe), I have to say I am extremely impressed with what this man has accomplished (Enki too, by the way)!
So if you're hesitating at all, I'd advise you to take the plunge! This book is totally phenomenal! I also would give it 10 stars! Now I have to go finish the book!
P.S. OK, I came back. I saw that there is no 'look inside' to this book, so I'm going to type you up a sample of the writing, so you can see for yourself if it's something you can read or not (this is just a sample I pulled out of the middle of the book)(It is double-spaced like this through the whole book, which makes it very easy to read):
To Nibiru I wish to return! to his two sons did Anu say.
Beforehand upon Alalu there must be a judgment; a sentence the
crime befitting must be imposed!
By the laws of Nibiru seven judges were required, the highest of
rank on them to preside.
In the square of Eridu the heros were assembled the trial of Alalu
to observe.
For the Seven Who Judge, seven seats were provided; for Anu,
presiding, the tallest seat was prepared.

Don't let the bad publicity against Mr. Sitchin influence your mind. Many jealous people and especially failed writers hate him. We all understand that. There is a person in America who asked the authorities to put him in jail. Crazy! Only in America people massacre others with dirty words, personality assassination and personal hatred. What they do? They are incapable of writing successful books so they began to throw dirt from their mouth and snake-style criticism. Mr. Sitchin is a remarkable writer. Respected all over the world. I collect all his books.

MUST-READ! May 27, 2008 When i got this book i was amazed for it's nothing like the 12th planet. It's as though Sitchin forgoes any and all explanations and simply offers us the writings of Enki as a kind of Bible book. So the entire book is just a translation of Enki's writings that have been found in various sources but in reading the book one sees that this is in itself so profound and enlightening that one doesn't miss any explanations much [sometimes you find yourself thinking "but what about...?", though].
To understand what's out there you MUST read this book. When i started looking into UFO's and deeper truths i asked some friends online what they thought would be good to read and that's why i bought this book and they were right. What is the face on Mars? What are the pyramids and what are they for? Especially Bible fans will be needing to read this one. The landing of Enki on Earth and his first days here turn out to be what turned into the very first verses of the Bible. These and many other fundamental questions are answered in this book. You must read it. Together with Sitchin's The 12th Planet, Willam Bramley's Gods of Eden, and William Cooper's Behold a Pale Horse this is one of the books you need to understand what's going on in the world today, what went on in the past, and what's going to happen in the near future. The Gods of Eden
