Customer Reviews:
Close encounters of another kind September 30, 2003 Plain spoken, provocative, often humorous, this pictorial essay of the author's personal experiences photo-documenting the "katydids" frequently observed near his residence in central Oregon runs the gamut from strangely behaving nocturnal lights, through daylight discs, to close encounters. Following a particularly dramatic personal sighting, the author, an accomplished amateur photographer, set himself the goal of getting some "dynamite" photos of the objects. This little volume, spectacularly and profusely illustrated with his own photos, both black and white and in color, and backed up by detailed field notes and diagrams, amply achieves that goal. Freely admitting his own limitations, the author refrains from over-theorizing on his subject, preferring to let the pictures speak for themselves. And that they do! Totally unlike anything you have ever seen before, this book is a must on every serious UFO buff's bookshelf.
