Essential Reading for Those Who Love KidsDecember 19, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I enjoyed this book very much. I had no idea about the wonderful direction that humanity is growing into. All adults who have anything to do with raising or caring for children will find this book interesting and helpful. It's a total new shift of perspective and expansion of thinking that will benefit the world by helping us nurture and care for these marvelous little ones. I urge people reading this to keep an open mind because this stuff is better than science fiction. It will stretch your mind and heart. I had the pleasure of hearing Doctor Meg at her lecture at The Celebration of Life Conference in 2007. She impressed me with her long list of credentials and very conservative look. Her manner was calm, professional and intelligent like she belonged at a medical symposium. Her content was thorough and thought provoking. Please read this book. It will blow your mind and give you hope.
Getting to know the "new kids"!December 18, 2007 This is a wonderful book and should be required reading for all elementary teachers. A lot of our children will be diagnosed as ADD, ADD/HD and degrees of Autistic.....not all have these disorders, they are just different! So this is a good starting point for education on who these children are and to realize that they are here to teach us!
InterestingOctober 21, 2007 Interesting reading for those who have children with special gifts...many great links and new understandings.
anecdotal, thought inspiring, does not totally convinceOctober 8, 2007 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This book was a little new agey for me. However the points the author makes about human institutions not serving the person, the mis/diagnoses of kids who operate other than from a linear, blind obedience paradigm were well worthwhile. The author's experience with kids was interesting to the point i could not stop reading. However her categorizations of star kids, crystalline etc I could not buy into. I also hold these children have always been, although we may have more recognition of it. I would call these children "mystics" although i use the term a little loosely here. The author is an excellent writer and well worth reading---critically.

I found this book very interesting. Dr. Meg's evolution and her description of her development and how it dovetailed into working with these kids was fascinating.
