Ghosts Among UsJune 28, 2008 Fantastic read. JVP was on the Beth & Bill Show, Phoenix, AZ on Tuesday, June 24, 2008, when I got to work I checked Amazon for the book, had it by Wednesday.....sat and read it. It has definitely made me feel calmer about all things around me. A very insiteful read and fascinating adventure. It helped me cleanse myself of some "baggage" and view things with a different "eye". Thank you JVP, can't wait to read your next book. I am going to read "Talking to Heaven" next.....sitting in front of me now.

Well-written and relatableJune 26, 2008 Most of us have questions about "the beyond"; if one exists, is it here with us, are there ghosts. Ghosts Among Us is an excellent tour through the experiences of James Van Praagh. He has written this book so that the reader can understand and even empathize with those he seems to be communicating with in the after-life. This book does not seem to play-up his experiences. I feel that it is an honest account of his interesting gift and should be viewed that way. I have never purchased a book on this topic before. However, I plan to purchase his next book.
Insigtful, educationalJune 25, 2008 James Van Praagh shares his experiences freely and gives insight into life beyond the veil. He gives hope to the life weary.

a rehash of his other worksJune 23, 2008 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
I have two concerns about this book. First, when I purchase a new work, I expect that the majority--if not all--of the book will be new, not to mention compelling. While I'm a fan of Van Praagh and believe he truly has a gift, I was disappointed by the number of anecdotes in the book which sounded eerily familiar (no pun intended.) I've heard or read these same stories before. My second objection to James' latest book is more theoretical. He contends that each of us creates our own version of heaven--kind of the "we create our own reality" idea, only James asserts that this ability extends to the afterlife. If this is so--and I'm not saying it isn't--then how can he be so certain that what he writes about the afterlife is "correct"? He is, after all, basing his understanding on what he's heard from spirits who have crossed over, and who may simply be relating what they have created there. So, James, what IS the "Truth About the Other Side"?
