Very CondensedDecember 14, 2008 This book is way too condensed for my taste. It's too short without enough explanation.
A classic work on spiritual protectionNovember 19, 2008 Draja Mickaharic emmigrated from Bosnia to New York where he studied and learned much from ethnic spiritual practioners. Having read through some of the earlier reviews, I can see why some individuals were not satisfied and were looking for more. Draja makes it clear that this book is "not intended as a working manual for the praciticing occultist." Rather, it is written for the lay person, the everyday joe, the soccer mom, etc. It is "a manual of spiritual first aid, to help you clean and maintain the cleanliness of your spiritual atmosphere." This is the kind of advice you would problaby receive if you consulted a Spiritual Practioner in the streets of New York, New Orleans, or Florida (usually hidden from the general public). Advanced practioners will undoubtly want more. To them, I recommend Jason Miller's Protection & Reversal Magick. These two books complipent eachother nicely. All of Draja's books are packed with information but this is my favorite. Definitely a handbook that should be in every shelve of rootworkers and spiritual practioners.
A Great Book IndeedMay 25, 2008 I was looking for a book like this and I'm so glad I found it. I've been feeling alot of negative energy around me lately and it kept me from sleeping at night. Whenever I tried to go to sleep, it felt like something was in the room standing next to my bed and wouldn't allow me to sleep, causing me to toss and turn all night. It even felt as though some one nudged me awake(Scary). I finally purchased this book and read about the moth balls. That morning I placed three in every corner of my room and three in the closet. Let's just say that I've been able to sleep better ever since. I also read about the flowers and got some gardenias and it lifted everyone's mood in the house. My mom and I were giggling like little school girls. This book is awsome and I think that anyone who needs some spiritual cleansing should read it. The knowledge in this book is straight from the old school and it definately works.
A great little handbook full of great adviceFebruary 7, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
As a follower of no religions, I've been referring to this book for years and had to replace my first copy because I wore it out. Don't let the new cover fool you (looks more like a cook book than a handbook for psychic protection). This book is full of useful advice on how to improve your self (vibration) and your surroundings (home/apartment/business) through the use of specific incenses, flowers, baths and washes. It's a great little handbook and I can't recommend it enough. And although I have access to an endless supply of holy water through a friend who works for the Catholic Church, (another reviewer faulted the book for including a few religious supplies in its "recipes") I simply don't use holy water because it doesn't fit in with my current belief system - to each his own. Buy the book and start improving your vibe and the vibe of your surroundings!
POWERFUL!January 17, 2008 This is a very, very powerful little book. Do not be distracted by any reviewer criticizing Catholicism belief/disbelief. Challenges can come from many directions--whether you believe or not. Anyone who is familiar with the title/name "Strega" will understand this book and respect some practices they may not have (as of yet) been introduced to. A wonderful and inexpensive education.
