WARNING Not Christian Theology but New Age and the Occult March 31, 2006 10 out of 52 found this review helpful
Warning: this book is not chrisitian but New Age and the Occult. The author spent the last two years of her life in the blackest psychotic depression according to psychologist and priest Fr. Benedict Groeschel who is also an expert in private revelations. Go to the EWTN website and find the article in the document library under the heading of New Age and Cults, keyword A COURSE IN MIRACLES. Fr. Groeschel was an aquaintance of the author and gave an eulogy at her funeral. Fr. Groeschel believes that the author's experience with the channeled "spirit" was possibly a true diabolic manifestation.
Where to start with "A Course in Miracles" (ACIM) February 17, 2006 16 out of 17 found this review helpful
I first "discovered" the voluminous ACIM and the slim "An Introduction to A Course in Miracles" in 1996 when "Introduction to ACIM" was still published as "by Robert Perry", the author.
For anyone who wants a broad overview of ACIM, "An Introduction" is the place to begin. In the last 10 years I have read many books, pamphlets, web pages and more dealing with ACIM. "An Introduction" still remains No.1 on my list of ACIM primers.
I usually purchase several (even a dozen) copies at a time to have on hand to give to friends or others who express interest (positive, negative or betwixt) in ACIM. "Introduction" is well and simply written, addresses a variety of topics about ACIM (including it's primary principles and provenance), and is a relatively easy read (great for airplane trips--as long as you're not the pilot).
ACIM is not everyone's "cup of char". "An Introduction" will probably help you decide if the tea of ACIM is suitable for your humble clay cup.
Namaste!

I have already read this. It was a gift to my daughter. She was looking at mine and was interested it and she took it home and started reading it and liked it. So I bought it for her.

This Introduction to ACIM book is very helpful to newcomers to the Course. When we did our ACIM Center in PA, we always had copies available for students to take and read at their leisure. The beauty of the study of the Course is that if you want to recognize inner peace in your life, then you want to really devote yourself to the study of A Course in Miracles (ACIM). As a minister and student of the Course for many years now, I have seen not only my own life changed by this profound work but others as well. I work daily one-on-one with students and counsel others in applying the principles of forgiveness and love into their daily lives. I have witnessed depression lifted and happiness restored. My husband, also a minister of ACIM, and I have written a book to assist others in engaging in an inner dialogue with the Holy Spirit in reference to the daily Workbook Lessons. It is called "Illumination Journal for the ACIM Workbook for Students." Search here on Amazon for ISBN: 1411658736.
