Before the hype... November 11, 2004 0 out of 4 found this review helpful
One Last Time is, for me, a seminal work. That is not to say there aren't more important or more insightful or more useful books out there on this subject. (Having said which, I haven't found one yet!) John Edward has had a profound influence on my life, so I'll admit to considerable bias. His (pre-stardom) story is fascinating. His down-to-earth, regular guy personality is a refreshing change from the plethora of mystical morons out there. I think John's greatest contribution to the field has been to demystify the process, to truly humanise it and to spread the word far and wide better than anyone before. Although on his show Crossing Over he may occasionally come out with some intriguing information, too much of what he does leaves him open to accusations of cold reading etc. (Frankly, in my limited experience, I have witnessed and undergone far more astounding phenomena of spirit communication/clairvoyance/clairaudience than anything described in this, or any other, book.) John's later books, thus far, have been more showbizzy and, therefore, a lot less profound. But I suppose that is inevitable. I'm also a little perturbed by the quite astronomical amounts he charges for private readings/seminars etc. On the other hand, he is a pioneer for the 21st century and is merely reaping what he, himself, has sown. A fantastic introduction, then, to talking with the dead. And, although I don't agree with everything he says - especially about psychic protection and psychic vampires (!) - his development tapes and CDs are also well worth getting hold of.
One Last Time by John Edwards September 30, 2004 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
My friend lent it to me just before we are going to see John Edward's in person on Sunday. I am not a interested reader like alot of people but I was very impressed with this book. I like it so much I just bought my own copy of it for collection I am ordering. I could not put this book down except to sleep and take care of family. I read the whole book of 220 pages in two days. I have only read one other book that fast which was the Karen Ann Quinlin story in the 70's. I can not wait to see him in person. I watch him on TV alot.

Can't get enough of his show? Here you go! August 5, 2004 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
I watch John Edward's show every day, and I really enjoy it. Some days, I feel like I can't get enough of it! That's why I went out and bought this book, and I wasn't disappointed. This autobiography of John Edward tells you how he got started in psychic work, and it gives more stories of families, like the ones you see on his show... how they lost their loved one, how John helped them make contact, and how John's messages from loved ones were, as he calls it, "validated." If you like his show, read this book first, before you buy any of John's other books. I think it's a good one to start out with.
One Last Time Again and Again June 23, 2004 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
As a Psychic Medium this is one of my favorite books to recommend. Unlike so many metaphyscial books that reflect a very serious tone,John's upbeat approach in contrast makes it a delight to read. Not only does he confirm that life does in fact exist beyond death but also he reminds his readers of the importance of connecting with our loved ones while still on earth.
