1 out of 5 stars Wrost astral projection book, misleading!   October 29, 2008

First of all, author is a amateur in astral projection. Full of self-proclaim experience and tended to mislead readers. When I got my out of body experience, do I claim myself expert in this? Second of all, the real out of body experience, not necessary involves vibrations. Most of out of body, you just exit naturally with no vibrations. Totally wrong information about out of body and astral projection. I do suggest author to read more other out of body books before claiming himself expert in this field, would be a good laugh.

5 out of 5 stars Escape from Reality   October 24, 2008

This book is so enticing! From the first few pages, through the end of the first section, I couldn't put it down. It slows down towards the middle with talk of scientific theories. But if you have the patience, it is really very enlightening. Whether you take it as fiction or nonfiction, it's a book that will take you far from reality!

5 out of 5 stars The Inner Vibration   October 20, 2008

After reading many reviews on OBE books, I settled on this one. The reviews were accurate. This is a very good book on the subject. The book starts off with the authors OBE journal over a 20 year period of exploration. My favorite journal entry involves his realization that after physical body separation and following the request for "clarity", the physical state of consciousness is a dull perception, like a hazy dream. Furthermore, I felt the honesty of his journal entrees. When he encounters a new "energy environment" his journal entrees are crafted with questions of which he answers, "I don't know". During one OBE experience he enters an energy realm, he senses a being in front of him but cannot see him. He calmly requests that this being become visible. His request is granted and it turns out to be one of his guides, an ancient friend, who expresses this wisdom, "Most physical inhabitants possess little control over their thoughts." In his later journal entrees, he asks to experience all past lives and witnesses his evolution of consciousness and does. He comes to the realization that physical life is an interactive school, a relentless training ground for developing souls. The author's greatest accomplishment is his return to his Source and thus experiences his Oneness.

The author then moves on to theory. His theories supported by his OBE's describe non-physical energy environments. He believes there are two types; consensus and non-consensus environments. A good example of consensus environment is the Christian Heaven created by beliefs. A non-consensus environment is very easy to manipulate with thoughts. Of great interest is the concept of the Continuum of Consciousness or Modes of Perception. The higher the inner vibration (frequency), the deeper one travels to the interior of the universe. This is what I liked about this book. I have always had the misconception that leaving the body was travelling away from the Self. This is false according to the author. The body is nothing more than a vehicle to experience the physical world. The physical universe is like the outer crust of the total universe. As one learns the ability to travel deeper towards the Source, one is able to experience spectacular energy dimensions of pure light and energy.

The author then moves on to separation methods and then to the four stages of the OBE experience. Of interesting note is the Biblical silver cord that can be observed during an OBE. The author notes that this cord looks more like a thin filament connecting the energy body to the physical body.

Of interest is the method of group OBE explorations. The author discusses OBE barriers (fears), OBE thought clarity exercises, OBE memory recall affirmations and many OBE typically asked questions with answers (such as can you get lost during an OBE).

Overall, I was very happy with this book. It was very easy to read, comprehend and put into practice. For me it was a great help in explaining many of the inner vibrations that I experience during deep meditation. For me the most fearful inner vibration was the ear splitting roaring. But thanks to this book, I understand what it is I am experiencing.

Of final interest is one of the author's last journal entries where he arrives at a beautiful ocean front structure that generates energy and light. In this house is a panel of advanced beings. They enter into a dialog concerning life in the physical universe with the author and it ends with this "The ultimate test is to recognize the truth while being surrounded by illusions."

4 out of 5 stars Good introduction   September 24, 2008

Until reading this book, I thought OBEs were something only dying people or monks with 10+ years of intense meditation practice have. I didn't know it was a technique accessible to anyone who simply had the will to do so.

The book starts off where the author started off, skeptically trying an OBE technique just to prove it doesn't work. I found this a good beginning point because having never really experienced or heard much about these practices, I too was skeptical about them. The book then continues to recount many of the amazing experiences the author had, along with his interactions with other beings in other planes of existence. Dispersed in the writings are journal entries of actual experiences. It was so interesting I could barely put the book down. The first section, anyway.

The second section gets a bit dry. The book makes a lot of connections between mysticism and science. I enjoy both subjects thoroughly, but everything is repeated too much. After reading the first part and also knowing a bit about quantum physics already, the second part just seemed to pound the same idea into the reader's head to point of forcing me to skim a lot of it. Basically in so many words, the author says that the physical world is just the outer layer of a more complex universe that translates into pure energy. Then he gives about 800,000 references that pretty much all say the same thing. By the time it was halfway over, I felt very much as though the book was preaching to the converted.

After that, the book gives techniques for inducing out of body experiences. I have yet to experience one using the techniques, but that's no surprise as I just finished the book today!

In all, it was a very fun and eye-opening read. The experiences themselves were given in such great detail that the reader can almost picture him or herself being there. I'm also looking forward to experiencing an OBE for myself, and will be trying the techniques in the book.

One thing I would have liked to see is how OBEs are connected to lucid dreaming, but that may be a whole nother book in itself.

5 out of 5 stars Great Book Works!   September 17, 2008

I bought this book 2 weeks ago with the determination and curiosity to have an out of body expirience. For about 2 weeks, every night i practiced the techniques given. This morning before sunrise I floated out of my body, fully conscious. I thought i was awake, so i tried moving my physical arms, but they were paralyzed, instead i ended up waving my astral being's arms. Instinctively i said float up. I began floating up, but the excitement and fear of my first out of body expirience caused me to snap backinto my physical body. This is a great book, you must expirience the out of body before you can label this simply a lucid dream. It will blow your reality away.
