Not for a beginner..February 28, 2008 I didn't care for this book when I first read it, mainly because I found it confusing and it was the first one on the subject I read. However, when I read some more basic books, I reread this one. I got a lot more out of it. This isn't a book you skim, do a little breathing, and expect huge change. You use this with other knowledge, and you can have a powerful experience.

I had this book a long time ago (with a different cover). I practiced these techniques for months and just when I was beginning to get good at it (the Formula of the Watcher), I was visited by someones or somethings that floated into my room. It freaked me out enough to stop my experimentation into magick.
Now, I've been thinking of starting again.

I should have read this comment before i bought the book. Now is too late, i have it just to occupy my bookshelf. After fist few chapters, i was very doubtful of the techniques. The book is very questionable especially when you move to the middle part which makes no sense or too difficult to believe it will work.

I've been reading these negative reviews and find that they are based primarily on a fundamental lack of knowledge and in a couple cases easy solutions to the complexity of this kind of work. One reviewer claims that this book is too "occultish". That's laughable, becuause not many things are more "occult" that trying to force your spirit from your body with the intentions on traveling to other dimensions of reality.
Having said this, the book is challenging because it actually asks something of the reader......dedication and commitment to the process. These authors are practicing metaphysicians/magicians for many years and are the head of a magickal order based in England called Aurum Solis (Denning recently passed away).
There is a lot of experience between these pages and it can work for you if you work with the techniques within.

This book is absolute garbage. I have actually bought this book and read it. I agree completely with the other authors talking about how confusing and impractical the instructions are. They do not make any sense. I can't believe I wasted my money on this.
