I've known all along about the link between art and meditation and have used it in my own meditative practice for years. It's not as if I'm the first to think of this--these are mandalas after all--but the contemporary nature of this art has an effect that isn't duplicated by those more traditional religious pieces. I especially appreciated the binding (I'm a designer), because the publisher must have realized that this book would be laid open time and time again. It's designed to take that kind of abuse, and doesn't "fold up" on you when the book is open.
