An Important CollectionMay 31, 2007 I believe this collection is probably one of the most useful collections for the mature spiritual practioner available. It includes material from Chinese sources with very fine translations. The Tao Teh Ching translation is better than Stephen Mitchell's, which is saying a lot. I believe the editing has a purpose in helping to speak to the dialectical healing between Love and Wisdom, which is a deeply needed integration in today's world. Dr. Beck is also a peace activitist whose approach to the wisdom traditions is unorthodox but entirely mature and quite accurate. Yes, the book is expensive, but that is because Dr. Beck's foundation is responsible for publishing this work and the price represents the actual cost of publishing. I think you will be very happy you bought this anthology. You will be surprised at what you will find here.

On Page 237, it says: "I think you may be surprised, that being the first of your lovers, the others having stopped, I alone have not left you."
