During the 1960's, the younger generation of that time used acid as a way to discover and then pursue a deeper relationship with God. While times have changed, the message Baba Ram Dass puts forth in his book is timeless. Be Here Now came into my life about three years ago and reading it simply felt like it was the next step I needed to take in my own journey. After studying yoga for many years, Be Here Now helped strengthen my awareness with the mental and spiritual aspects of yoga. I have never had the chance to meet Ram Dass in person, but I once saw him give a lecture when he was a guest on Lilias Folan's PBS series and found him to be one of the most humble teachers of our time. He has made his experience of India with the teachings of Buddhism and yogic philosophy his own. And with his humility and guidance one can make the experience of Being Here Now their own.

After a two-week road trip that nearly killed a relationship, I came home in dire need of some enlightenment. I rediscovered Ram Dass' book the morning after.
Is it trippy? Yes. But, on the same note, it is also beautifuly written. The prose is elegant, not convoluted, and generally just delightful to read.
Regardless of your religion or spiritual beliefs, everyone has something to learn from this book.
