5 out of 5 stars Touching and Enlightening   December 22, 2008
I grew up near where Denver did, but I am much younger. I never knew that slavery was still de facto present there so far into this century.
I also now live in a city with a very large homeless population. Some days I get so annoyed at the constant panhandling. But now I have a new appreciation and sympathy for their plight, and hopefully I will look upon them with kinder eyes after reading this book.

5 out of 5 stars Same Kind of Different As Me   December 20, 2008
Beautiful, but sad story. To read about how some Americans have been teated is always a tragedy to me.

5 out of 5 stars I don't give out 5 stars often!   December 19, 2008
few books get a 5 star review from me... and this was one. It's an amazing true story that I encourage everyone to read!

5 out of 5 stars Captivating & Transformative True Story   December 16, 2008
This has to be one of the best books that I have read in several years. Not only is it a captivating story, the message is powerful and transformative. We have given over a dozen copies away. It's remarkable sales can be traced to one thing: word of mouth advertising. When you read it, you too will want to pass it on. I couldn't rate it any higher.

5 out of 5 stars Moving   December 8, 2008
I can't say enough about this book. It has changed my life for the better.. I now understand things I couldn't of imagined before. Get it and you won't be able to put it down
