Hedge Witch by Silver Raven WolfSeptember 24, 2008 11 out of 15 found this review helpful
This so called book does not even come close to what a "real" Hedge Witch is all about. Maybe SRW would like to research the real thing before putting something like this into print. It's really unfortunate that some beginners will read this book and think that this is what a real Hedge Witch actually is. It's sad that this kind of misinformation is allowed to be put into print and the poor unsuspecting beginners will swallow it whole thinking it to be true when actually it couldn't be further from the truth. If it were possible to give this book no stars I would have done it because it doesn't deserve even one. Don't waste your money. Beginners BEWARE!!!

Gag me!September 23, 2008 16 out of 19 found this review helpful
First of all, anything with a ritual couldn't POSSIBLY be hedgewitch craft, that's a huge no no... no rituals in hedgewitch craft... no dedication ceremony either. And most traditional hedgewitches feel that there is no wicca in Hedgewitchery either. As this book is the antithesis of the hedgewitch craft that I have practiced for longer than the author has been writing books, I pretty much feel it should be disposed of in the round file. There's so much more information available online that this book is useless anyway, why waste your money?
Hedge Witchery?September 18, 2008 6 out of 11 found this review helpful
I will admit I have not read the book, but I did spend a long time looking through it at the bookstore and the first thing I said was, "How is this hedge witchery?"
The thing that really got me was that she included recipes for Florida Water in the appendices, but didn't mention where it comes from or why it gets used. Florida Water has nothing to do with HedgeCraft.
I'm sure there is good stuff in there, but I would read it with a grain of salt.
My favorite book on Hedge Witchery!September 3, 2008 6 out of 12 found this review helpful
The nightly rituals were awesome! Included are rituals for each night ... such as the Rite of Air, Fire, Lightening, Metal ... and so much more, to help you gain magical authority with the energies of nature. Combining Western and sometimes Eastern thought, Silver has come up with a new style of Hedge Witchery that can be a powerful tool that can help take your magicial ability and understanding to new heights.
After you complete the 13 rituals to bring about your Hedge Witch understanding, it ends with an awesome dedication ritual to set in stone and confirm your Hedge Witchery path.
I also enjoyed the wonderful recipees and formulas -- including great information on soap making -- which I have never done before, but now I think I will give it a try as I was inspired to when reading it.
Another of my favorite parts was recipes for body powders -- such as an Aura Cleansing body powder, money drawing body powder and many others.
An excellent reference and information on herbs -- including best ways to grow them and what to use them for... Overall, this is a wonderful grimoire of great information and has new information that I haven't seen before in print. Keep em' coming Silver, this is my new favorite!
