The Baha'i Faith believes in progressive revelation. They have no doubt that there is only one God, and that same God have provided us with guidance through out history through educators of mankind such as Moses, Buddha, Christ, Mohammed and Baha'u'llah. Baha'is also feel that the differences in religion comes from the social teachings applicable to the era and from the land it originated. In addition to the social teachings, each religion has its physical expressions of the spiritual teachings, such as prayers and fasting, and that may mark the visual differences of religion.
Nonetheless, Baha'is believe that the spiritual foundations have always remained the same.
Essentially, there should be no conflict between religions, as much as there shouldn't be between different grades of the same school.
This Book lays the foundations for the Baha'i social teachings as well as the physical expressions of the spiritual teachings for this day and age.
It is a unique Book even in all the Writings of Baha'u'llah.
One thing to note is that since Baha'is also believe in following the laws of the land they reside in, some teachings in this book do not apply even to the Baha'is just yet.
However, if the Baha'i Faith's austonition growth continues and follows the pattern of former religions, this global Faith, and this Book could have an effect on establishing the common law for the entire world.
Though this Book is not a nit picky law book, it provides a frame work to social order, starting from the individuals to the family, and to the rulers of the world. This Book well may be the foundation of the new world order.
This book was written in 1872, and finally translated into English with additional notes in 1992. Recommended for all and strongly suggested to read not as a stand alone book, but with other Writings of Baha'u'llah, in order to get a better sense of the range of Baha'u'llah's writings, and to grasp the more spiritual aspect of this Faith. This book is a must for those who collect and study Baha'i Books.
It is a very sweet, strong and deep Book that stimulates the mind and soul, in this new dispensation.
