An Intimate and Challenging Memoir November 12, 2008 Reader Rating 5 starsSee Detailed Ratings
"Love from Both Sides" is an intimate memoir that will surprise and challenge all your notions about the meaning of life, love and death. The author is remarkably courageous in revealing personal details of her life both before and after her husband's death. Her spiritual experience provides a window into which we are privileged to look. I don't want to give away too much, but you will come out of this book enlightened, stimulated, perhaps shocked, and definitely wanting to know more.
Excellent Book, Great Reading ! October 1, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I read this book before reading the reviews here and discovered it to be an outstandingly well written and entertaining work (the only negative review posted here TOTALLY misses the point). As a space scientist it is my general belief that anything is possible, so I found the author's lucid exposition of her experiences with the "In Between" most fascinating as a metaphysical possibility. The author's story is told with clarity, insight, wit, and focused energy. Above all, this book reminds each of us to always enjoy "The Moment", despite that we may have been conditioned by others to think and act otherwise. This book was definitely worth my reading; I was extremely impressed by the author's excellent writing style and skill. I couldn't stop reading once I had started. I highly recommend this book to all !
Love from Both Sides September 15, 2008 1 out of 5 found this review helpful
This book has an interesting premise. Unfortunately it is repeditive and boring to read. It is an exercise in one woman's mourning process, turned into a money making project. The cover is beautiful and creative. That is the best thing I can say about the book.
This Can't Be September 8, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Reading Love From Both Sides takes you on quite journey. My mind kept saying, "this can't be." Slowly I let myself slip out of my mind and into my heart. I listened to the messages being sent to Stephanie and stopped worrying about how she received them. I needed to hear what those voices had to say and I am eternally grateful to Stephanie for her generousity in sharing them. Love, happiness and joy are possible right here in this life.
This Book a Godsend; Had Similar Experience August 13, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I can't say enough on behalf of this book. It is a "first" in many ways, and represents a whole new genre of metaphysical information slowly seeping into this reality. There are many dimensions to this tome, just as there are many dimensions of reality, which author Stephanie Riseley deftly conveys in her personal story of love and sacred sex as it exists from the physical world to the divine realm. But don't let this scare you off; the book is reader-friendly. Whether you are metaphysically inclined or just in need of comfort over the loss of a loved one, there are powerful messages in here for you. This book has been a godsend to me personally, as I had an almost identical experience from someone I had wanted to marry when I was young, and didn't. I did not learn the whole truth about our brief relationship in this world until he passed over to the other side last year and came back to me, after having been parted for several decades. We analyzed together what had happened between us. This miracle DOES occur between dimensions; these encounters ARE happening more and more, and communications from the "other side" are coming through with more and more crystal clarity. When my experience began last year, I went searching for others who had had this type of encounter. I didn't get anywhere. Then in June 2008, I "accidentally" picked up a magazine I rarely read, and there was a full-page ad for Love From Both Sides. I was stunned; I couldn't believe someone had finally had the moxie to write about this subject, which is so intimate to people who have experienced it personally, as I have. It's even harder to talk about it. I went to a metaphysical bookstore right away, but the store didn't have it. Thank goodness for Amazon; I was able to order the book before it was actually out there in the stores. Stephanie Riseley conveys this miraculous story of inter-dimensional relationship healing with wit, candor, charm, thoughtful self-analysis of her own initial skepticism, and subsequent validation that indeed her partner had returned to her for a while after his "death" which is really just another form of birth. He came back to help her understand the missing pieces of their relationship, and to grow from it, and to get their story out to those of us who need it. I bless you Stephanie for teaching us that there truly is no death, just transformation.
