The Abs Diet Workout is presented in - 3 parts: Diet, Exercise routine (circuit training), and abs routine. This video concentrates primarily on the circuit training with a little info on diet and directs viewer to a supplementary booklet that comes with the program. Circuit training is to be completed 3 times a week with 48 hours recommended between each session to rebuild muscle. Repetition of sets in a circuit fashion with only 30 seconds of rest in between each set (so the heart rate remains elevated) is the hallmark of this style of training. A main focus of the program is that you have someone to motivate you through the workouts, show your proper form, and program is dedicated to HOME training with the Abs method with very little weights or accessories required. The Abs Diet Workout has been enjoying favorable reactions from many users, and it's easy to see why, as "host" and fitness trainer Tom Holland has designed a regimen that's brisk, efficient, thorough, and fun. Disregard the hype that calls it "a way of life" instead of simply a diet or exercise program. On the other hand, Holland's claim that The Abs Diet Workout will increase metabolism and help lose fat and build muscle is very likely true, assuming one dutifully does the exercises and follows the diet guidelines and menus as directed. The exercise portion offers a brief warmup (running in place, jumping jacks, simulated jump rope), followed by a choice of three abdominal routines; the latter vary in difficulty from beginner to advanced, but all three are designed to work the upper, lower, and oblique abs, as well as the transverse abdominis muscle and the lower back. The "circuit training" portion also has three options, each including squats, lunges, quad and hamstring stretches, pushups, and various exercises for the arms (the use of dumbbells is recommended). Add to that an extensive list of recipes for a diet plan that includes three meals and three snacks per day, and you've got pretty much everything you need for a comprehensive program designed to yield noticeable results in a matter of weeks. --Sam Graham

This is a great full body workout, with more emphasis on the abs. Also, you'll get helpfull food tips to maximize the results. The abs workout just by itself is not as dificult as I thought (at least for myself), but if you do the entire dvd workout (full body) then the results are good.

This DVD has amazed me with almost immediate results. I saw a HUGE difference once I started on the regimen. Not only does it show you how to eat (which in itself is very loose and are basically just guidelines on how to eat), but most importantly it gives you a abs workout regimen for some rock hard abs. Not only that, but they have different workouts for beginners, intermediates, and experts. I used to kill myself doing 300 sit-ups within 30 minutes and I still would not get half as good results as this workout that probably takes 15 minutes at most. It REALLY burns off that stubborn, hard-to-burn belly fat (although it still won't substitute a well-balanced diet). I mean, my love handles have basically disappeared. It truly targets your WHOLE core, including abdominals. This is why it is so effective and you don't need any equipment. Save your money and avoid buying that ab cruncher machine. This DVD is all that you will ever need.

I bought this DVD simply because I like the ABS diet 2 workout DVD and I thought the part one must be good as well. It turned out the part one was a complete waste of time and money. If you're serious about your workout, buy the volume 2, not volume 1.
