Book Description The highly anticipated follow-up to the 2,000,000 copy bestselling inspirational book, The Power of Now With his bestselling spiritual guide The Power of Now, Eckhart Tolle inspired millions of readers to discover the freedom and joy of a life lived "in the now." In A New Earth, Tolle expands on these powerful ideas to show how transcending our ego-based state of consciousness is not only essential to personal happiness, but also the key to ending conflict and suffering throughout the world. Tolle describes how our attachment to the ego creates the dysfunction that leads to anger, jealousy, and unhappiness, and shows readers how to awaken to a new state of consciousness and follow the path to a truly fulfilling existence. The Power of Now was a question-and-answer handbook. A New Earth has been written as a traditional narrative, offering anecdotes and philosophies in a way that is accessible to all. Illuminating, enlightening, and uplifting, A New Earth is a profoundly spiritual manifesto for a better way of lifeand for building a better world. About the Author ECKHART TOLLE is a contemporary spiritual teacher who is not aligned with any particular religion or tradition. In his writing and seminars, he conveys a simple yet profound message with the timeless and uncomplicated clarity of the ancient spiritual masters: There is a way out of suffering and into peace. Enlightening and Worth the ReadSeptember 3, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book, at least at first, is not easy to get through. It's dry, written in a kind of monotone (which is also how Tolle speaks), and a bit dense in terms of language. But Tolle is, truly, an enlightened being, and for people who are open to what he has to say, his words ring true in very profound and helpful ways.
It's important to know that this isn't another "What Should I do with My Life" guidebook. It's really about learning to live in the present moment and have your life's purpose come from within rather than from the expectations others have of us. I have returned to it on many occasions to re-read and remind myself of how to live in the now.
Good bookSeptember 2, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am still in the process of reading the book. Almost finished though, It's a good book. But I couldn't help feeling that the author doesn't really take women's hormones into account. It's not so easy for us ladies just to be non-reactive and say, "Is that so?" I felt like it would be great in a fairy tale world. And I am sure it is MUCH easier for men to place this into action than women who are on a pms overload every month. Unfortunately I feel disadvantaged to try to say "Is that so?" to every situation that pops up. "This to shall pass"

the message of the antichrist wrapped up in a self help book watch/google Bishop george bloomer's " do you really know who Jesus is?" this video will enlighten you on the trash written in this book.
New EarthSeptember 1, 2008 Eckhart Tolle is a brilliant author. His writings are very important and informative in our modern world. I had not heard of him until I saw him on Oprah and was fascinated by his teachings. He is on par with Wayne Dyer and Deepok Chopra. This is a must read.
Pure TrashSeptember 1, 2008 1 out of 7 found this review helpful
This is pure trash and a waste of your time but it is terrific, I'm sure, to people who are lost in this world.
