Product Description This colorful book offers you a window into the world of Mahatma Gandhi, one of the most amazing people of the twentieth century. You will learn about Gandhis life--from his time as a student in London to his work for equality in South Africa and India--and his methods of peaceful, but not passive, resistance to injustice.
Through engaging biography, activities inspired by Gandhis values and beliefs, and the words of Gandhi himself, Gandhi: Indias Great Soul will show you how to achieve your goals through persistence and persuasion rather than through violence and fighting.

A man of peaceApril 12, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a wonderful book for children that not only gives historical information and biographical material about Mohandas Gandhi but also offers ideas for practical experiments to enable students to further explore the concepts of freedom and nonviolence. As a teaching artist/musician I am currently using this book with a class of African American 2nd graders as part of a music residency called "Freedom Through Peaceful Change."
