Product Description For seventeen years, Elaine served her master, Satan, with total commitment. Then she met Dr. Rebecca Brown, who served her master, Jesus Christ, with equal commitment. Elaine, one of the top witches in the U.S., clashed with Dr. Brown, who stood against her alone. In the titanic life-and-death struggle that followed, Dr. Brown nearly lost her life. Elaine, finding a power and love greater than anything Satan could give her, left Satan and totally committed her life to Jesus Christ. In this honest, in-depth account of Satan's activities today, you'll see how to recognize and combat the many satanists who regularly infiltrate and destroy Christian churches; recognize and combat satanic attacks; and recognize those serving Satan, and bring them to Jesus Christ.

Not sure how to say this...let me think on it... April 11, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
honestly--i haven't finished reading it. i'm about halfway through. but there's a reason i haven't finished reading it--it chills you to the bone to know this is what happens. i happened to get it right before Good Friday...i must say--i learned things i will never forget as long as i live. i don't know how much more my heart can deal with b/c there are so many relentless battles--and yes--God always wins...i KNOW He does! i see it in my own life! but it's a lot to take in all in one sitting. in my life--God is Merciful enough to space it out so i'm not 100% battling darkness in such an open manner 24/7/365 otherwise i think my heart might implode or something. so--right now--i've gotten my eyes wide open and i've limited myself from things i used to think weren't somehow involved with terrible evil. the battle is deeper than we think. even this book--eyeopener that it is--was written like 25 or someodd years ago...the battle can only be worse.
with that said--i've got my eyes fixed on The One True Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and with His Grace and Mercy--they are going to stay there.

I am a Pastor in the Dallas area of Texas. My wife was a witch at one time before coming to know the Lord. It doesn't surprise me that this book has been attacked. Let me assure you this is a credible book and I highly recommend it. It is a must read for Christians in these end times we are living.
This is part of God's plan! December 10, 2007 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
I came across this book through a website of Christian testimonies. He Came to Set the Captives free is by far the most powerful story testified about God that has ever impacted my life. It changed me and opened my eyes on spiritual warfare in a way I've never understood before. It gave sense to what I was going through at the time. I believe God interceded and brought Rebecca's book to me in order to open my eyes.
In fact, at that time I was in spiritual bondage but wasn't sure `at best' state I was in. Now I am no longer a captive of the enemy, but free like a dove. All my thanks to the Lord! Hallelujah!!
It is simply written in a language everybody can understand unless you fall in the category of Acts 28:27 NLT of the Word of God (Holy Bible) `For the hearts of these people are hardened, and their ears cannot hear, and they have closed their eyes--so their eyes cannot see, and their ears cannot hear, and their hearts cannot understand, and they cannot turn to me and let me heal them.'
Overwhelmed with answers to all my personal questions, what God has been doing in her life testifies to how caring and awesome God is toward us, His children. Her books bring revelations and insights for all of those who hunger and thirst for spiritual knowledge, the truth and reality of spiritual warfare.
If you want to get out of your spiritual struggles or you do not understand why your walk with the Lord is difficult to the point where you just want to give up - and it should not be that way because God never discourages (though I do not say it will be easy as cake either) - you need to get that book and be set free from the devil and his cohorts' ropes. You don't have to be a captive to any of their evil schemes.

a brutal reality check October 4, 2007 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
This book is bone-chilling. I believe every word of it. Scripture says in 1 Peter 5:8: "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walketh about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour". If we could only get a mere passing glimpse of how desperately satan and his fallen angels hate our guts, we would see our surroundings through different eyes. Jesus did not die for the fallen angels, and they are jealous beyond description. They passionately hate God and want to take as many of us away from Him as possible. Get this book; digest this book. You will wake up to a different reality than you had the day before you read it.

I really wanted this book to be good. I read Doreen Irvine's "From witchcraft to Christ," which was wonderful. I had hoped "He came to set the captives free," would be equally wonderful. WRONG. As a Christian I was looking for a credible and honest account. This woman is either completely crazy, a crook, or perhaps both.
If you're looking for a similar book, please search for Doreen Irvine, "From witchcraft to Christ." I highly recommend it but whatever you do, don't buy Rebecca Brown's book--it's nonsense.
