Amazon.com Don't you love it when you pick up a book that immediately explains experiences you've had but had no explanation for when they occurred? This doesn't happen often, but it might with Astral Dynamics, Robert Bruce's straightforward how-to manual on astral projection. Perhaps you've had a spontaneous out-of-body experiences and didn't know it! This extensive tome teaches you everything you need to know to accomplish successful, planned out-of-body travel; how to exit the body, how to get around on the astral plane, and how to get back in with solid, provable memories of the event. Bruce writes very clearly and uses down-to-earth terminology so that you learn not only how to create a "real-time double" to astrally project but also about the physics of the nonphysical world. Out-of-body experiences can be so confusing that enjoying them or employing them usefully can be a serious challenge. Fortunately, Bruce now brings his 25 years of interdimensional experience to the aid of astral explorers the world over, and everywhere else too. --P. Randall Cohan
Very Comprehensive - A bit much to absorb!May 31, 2008 I would firstly say that this is a book that every aspiring projector should have at some point in their exploration of this topic.
The book does contain an awful lot of detail and opinions about the many stages and problems encountered when trying to project and also when you do leave your body.
To me, the Mind/body split idea was one of the more useful concepts to ponder.
The other useful ideas was what to do when you actually exit the body (i.e. get away as fast as you can), make initial projections short so you can remember them, how to navigate around different planes , and adjusting to these planes with your new senses, and of course the idea of the Astral Pulse. It does cover the prequisites of Astral Prjection and what you can work on (Energy Body Development), which the author says will allow you to see and explore the Astral Planes in more detail.
For me, It is going to take further re-readings and application before this all sinks in and then I can decide what is valid for me and what is not.
I would say that there are easier books to take you more gently into the topic. Perhaps it's better to start with easier books first, and then get this one.

Perfect, ExcellentApril 26, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book is really excellent. I cannot think of a better, more scientific, more systematic book which explains everything and guides so perfectly. It really is perfect and is definitely a must for all people interested in spirituality. It is not only about OBEs, astral projection, but also energy work, chakras, relaxation, trance and meditation. Robert's energy work system called "NEW" works so excellently. It is not like those ineffective "visualisation" exercises; NEW is based on tactile imaging, on bodily sensations, as if an etheric hand is working on your chakras. Robert explains everything about the energy body so perfectly you understand the dynamics for having a healthy(spiritual) body, not only for OBEs nor astral projection but for all life. He also explains that before working on primary chakras, one has to work on secondary circuit, and fill in the sub-navel storage center to make primary chakras ready for heavy primary workout. This book helped me so much about relaxation, meditation, energy work, psychic skills and OBEs that I used to pray for Robert regularly. I am also paying my debt by writing this sincere review. This book is the only book I refer to about the above-mentioned topics. Not only OBEs, but I owe my regular relaxation, trance meditation and energy work sessions to this book. It has changed my life forever. Just buy it, you will thank me.

Now I am reading two books on astral projection "ASTRAL DYNAMICS" by Robert Bruce and "ADVENTURES BEYOND THE BODY" by William Buhlman. I find them quite helpful because yesterday I had my first out-of-body experience (OBE).
Every time before I go to bed, I relax and do some exercises from the books. But it never helped me leave my body... Till yesterday morning when I waked up and felt as some inner part of me along with my consciousness started to slide off my body as a glove from a hand. I soared over my bed and realized that I could see nothing.
I said to myself, "I want to see!" and suddenly everything became clear and bright. I was in my room but it had some minor difference from my real room. (The books say it could be one of those astral words which is close to our world).
I flied up to the window, looked around and then decided to come back in my body because the authors do not recommend to do long trips in the first OBE. So I flied up to my body, thinking of it, and returned back.
It was not a dream or lucid dreaming. I know the difference. But it also did not look like a real life experience. I am still stumped for an answer about the true nature of my experience. Though it was interesting.
I have read a couple of other books about OBE/astral projection but to me, the most informative and helpful were "ASTRAL DYNAMICS" and "ADVENTURES BEYOND THE BODY."
If it worked for me, it can work for you. Just be positive, do the exercises and sooner or later you will have your first OBE. Though ask yourself first if you really need it.
