If you liked Everything is Spiritual, you'll like this one too.
I wouldn't say (as a few reviews here) that it's not as good or as intense. I think it is equally informative regarding to history of ancient cults and customs but I think also that it is a lot more intense in the essence of the content. Everything is Spiritual is meant to bring reason to faith (...or faith to reason?), but The Gods Aren't Angry is more than that. It brings LOVE into the game. So now we have FAITH, REASON and LOVE.
You may not agree with some of the points he makes. I've been hearing that there is evolution preached here, or universalism. I was raised conservative and when I first heard Bell's preachings I was a little scared too. But I've been documenting my faith, I've been looking for the roots of what I believe and found that there is a lot to be learned and what he says makes a lot of sense. (I suggest to see Everything is Spiritual first, so you know what I'm talking about, see the round and square discussion). We don't need to embrace any new doctrine we hear, but we sure need to revise the ones we have and let our minds to be a little stretched before they become arthritic.
The Gods Aren't Ungry is meant to give you a big picture of God relationship with humanity and His plan to restore it through Jesus Christ. If you don't agree with all his "doctrine", you may still like this DVD as long as you catch at least a glimpse of its main message:
YOU DON'T HAVE TO LIVE LIKE THIS.

An overview of why the God of Abraham is unlike any other god. He seeks and develops a relationship with us and has made it all possible through His Son.
OK message, bad camera worksOctober 10, 2008 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
The video documented a sermon/lecture. The message itself is good, delivered clearly, peppered with some humor ... standard evangelistic message. My gripe is after a while it can be quite a challenge to look at the screen that is filled mostly with black & white objects (Rob wears black). While Rob walks to the left and right of the stage, the cameras don't follow him as fast. Thus there are several moments that he is out of the screen. I don't know if this dvd is supposed to be watched on a wide screen lcd, mine is still the old crt tv. So, at moments it's annoying to see only part of Rob's body. Instead of a dvd, this is better released as a cd.

Rob Bell goes beyond relevant in this amazing project. I am sharing this with everyone I can get to watch it. The historical context of his message creates an understanding of some Biblical texts, and resonates Christ's story into my life today.
Some of us struggle with issues of shame, discontent, etc., and in this work, Rob Bell takes us on a spiritual journey to meet Christ. Awesome.
